Third Look at 2009 Calendars: Calendars for Quilters

Quilting Arts 2009 calendar

I'm enchanted with this calendar from Quilting Arts Magazine, and I'm not a quilter! The magazine publishes a calendar each year; the theme for the 2009 Quilting Arts Calendar is “Celebrating Home.” The calendar measures 12 inches by 12 inches, and the day blocks measure 1.5 inches by 1.75 inches - so there's certainly room to write in them. Some of the blocks have quilt shows noted in them and holidays are noted as well. The web site shows you all the monthly pictures.

Lost Quilt Masterpieces 2009-2010 calendar

For something quite different, there's The "Lost Quilt Masterpieces": A Silly Calendar for 2009-2010 by Barbara Brackman. As the web site explains, "Barbara Brackman has taken 16 masterpiece paintings - from painters such as Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Rousseau, and Georges Seurat - and added something having to do with quiltmaking - a quilt or two, a sewing machine, patchwork clothing." The calendar is 11.75 inches square, and has standard wall calendar boxes for the days - so again, there's room to write in the boxes. You can see some of the additional pictures on the web site.
